A posthumous Avicii track featuring Chris Martin is on the way

"Yesterday was a strange and emotional day".

A posthomous single from Avicii could be on the way, after one of the late DJ’s closest collaborators confirmed that he is working on material that was unfinished at the time of his death.

Posting on Instagram, longtime Avicii collaborator Carl Falk revealed that he has finished a version of ‘Heaven’, which features the vocals of Coldplay’s Chris Martin.

The wording of the post also seemingly suggested that there’s a selection of other unfinished material on the way, too.

Yesterday was a strange and emotional day in many ways trying to finishing these songs”, he wrote.

“It’s not the same producing without you by my side. I miss you hanging over my shoulder doubting every little thing and detail in the song. “

According to Swedish site Aftonbladet, the musician left behind nearly 200 unfinished tracks at the time of his death.

It was confirmed last month that Avicii took his own life while holidaying in Muscat, Oman in April.

His family confirmed in a statement: “He wanted to find peace. Tim was not made for the business machine he found himself in; he was a sensitive guy who loved his fans but shunned the spotlight.
