The band are back with their first new material in two years...

PRIMAL SCREAM‘s new single is titled ‘MISS LUCIFER’ and will be released in the summer, NME.COM can announce .

A spokesperson for the group confirmed the title, but was unable to announce a release date. Their new album will follow shortly after.

Unofficial Scream website, www.primal-scream.net says the release date is June 6 – but the band’s spokesman told NME.COM the date was “99% unlikely”, although he confirmed it would be released sometime in summer around the time of their live dates later this year.

The group are also rumoured to have approached controversial director Jonas Åkerlund to work on video. He previously directed the clip for [a][/a]’s ‘Smack My Bitch Up’.

The single coincides with renewed activity in the Primal Scream camp. They have already announced a one-off London show at the Shepherds Bush Empire (June 19), and will appear at the T In The Park and V2002 festivals in July and August.
