Bobby Gillespie and band deliver raucous set
Primal Scream performed a raucous late-night set on day two of South By Southwest (March 19).
Bobby Gillespie and his band were on top form and garnered a hugely positive response from the massive, mostly male crowd at Cedar Street Courtyard.
Green lasers shot above the crowd as the veteran band ran through crowd pleasers including ‘Skull X’, ‘Miss Lucifer’ and ‘Swastika Eyes’ at the large outdoor venue, which was so packed fire marshals were called in to guard the entrance.
“South by Southwest, are you ready to get your rocks off?” Gillespie shouted before the band launched into ‘Rocks’, which saw audience members crowdsurfing before bouncers intervened.
The band ended their 50-minute set with a wall of guitars, as Gillespie gave high-fives to fans in the front row and left the stage.
