Primavera Sound announce impressive, eclectic, and gender equal line-up for 2019 festival

The annual event will take over Barcelona once again next summer

The line-up for Primavera 2019 has been revealed, with some of alternative music’s biggest and most exciting acts heading to Barcelona next summer.

Erykah Badu, Tame Impala, Cardi B, J Balvin, Rosalía, Future, Nas, and Solange will headline the Spanish festival, which takes place between May 30-June 1.

The rest of the line-up includes the likes of Interpol, FKA Twigs, Janelle Monáe, Robyn, James Blake, Christine And The Queens, Carly Rae Jepsen, Suede, and many more. A press release notes the line-up features as many female artists as it does male for the first time in the festival’s history. The full bill can be seen in the below tweet.

Artists such as Big Red Machine (the collaborative project of Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon and The National’s Aaron Dessner, Deerhunter, Cuco, Cate Le Bon, and more will perform at Primavera A La Clutat, which takes place in the days before the main event, between May 27-29.

Tickets for Primavera 2019 are available now and can be purchased here. General admission passes are priced at €180, while VIP tickets cost €400.

Organisers began teasing the line-up reveal last week (November 29), sharing a GIF with the hashtag #TheNewNormal.

Last year’s event was headlined by Arctic Monkeys, Belle & Sebastian, Björk, and The National, while Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Migos, Lorde, and A$AP Rocky also featured on the bill. NME described the 2018 edition as “a festival like no other” and reserved special praise for Arctic Monkeys’ set, saying: “A lot of pressure’s been put on Arctic Monkeys’ return to Primavera Sound, the Parc Del Forum stage being billed for weeks as something of a proving ground for their latest evolution.
