The song follows on from the musician's recent Baltimore tribute track
Prince has released a surprise new track, titled ‘HARDROCKLOVER’.
The track, uploaded to SoundCloud, follows on from ‘Baltimore’, a song written in response to civil unrest in the US city.
Prince released two albums in 2014, ‘Plectrumelectrum’ with the band 3rdeyegirl and the solo LP ‘Art Official Age’.

Prince recently performed a private live show for Barack Obama at the White House, with Stevie Wonder appearing as a special guest. Jon Bon Jovi and Ciara were among the 500 invited guests in attendance.
The musician and his band, 3rdEyeGirl, performed a two-hour set on June 13. Stevie Wonder collaborated with Prince for a rendition of his classic track ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours’, while Prince also performed such hits as ‘Purple Rain’ and ‘Kiss’.
Alabama Shakes performed at Prince’s Paisley Park studio last month (June 1), with the singer himself joining the band onstage.
The group played a set at Prince’s home-come-recording complex in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with reports stating that he joined the band live for a rendition of their song ‘Gimme All Your Love’, which saw Prince “shredding guitar for a solid 15 minutes”.
