Prince presents Common and John Legend with Golden Globe for Best Original Song – watch

Duo beat competition from Lorde, Patti Smith, Sia and Lana Del Rey

Prince appeared at the Golden Globes ceremony in Los Angeles last night (January 11), where he presented Common and John Legend with the gong for Best Original Song – click below to watch.

Common and Legend’s track ‘Glory’, from the film Selma (pictured), beat competition from Lana Del Rey’s ‘Big Eyes’, from the Tim Burton film of the same name, Lorde‘s ‘Yellow Flicker Beat’ from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, Patti Smith’s ‘Mercy Is’ from the Noah soundtrack and Sia’s ‘Opportunity’ from Annie.

Prince described the nominations as being “as complex and diverse as the films they represent”.

Jóhann Jóhannsson won the Best Original Score Golden Globe for The Theory of Everything, beating competition from Nine Inch Nails man Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, who scored David Fincher’s Gone Girl.
