Prince to attend Coachella

Singer will be at California festival this weekend (April 11-13)

Prince has confirmed he will attend Coachella this weekend, leading to rumours of the singer is performing a secret show at the US festival.

A tweet sent from the Twitter account of Prince’s band 3rd Eyed Girl first revealed that he will be at Coachella this weekend, which takes place from today (April 11) until Sunday. His appearance means that Paisley Park After Dark, where Prince opens his studio for a night of live music, DJing, dancing, food and drink, will not happen this weekend.

Prince recently spent time in the UK, which saw him performing surprise concerts in various London venues as well as two concerts in Manchester. In London, Prince played at Camden’s Electric Ballroom, Shepherds Bush Empire, Kings Place, Koko and Ronnie Scott’s.

Coachella takes place across two weekends this spring – April 11-13 and April 18-20 – in Indio, California, with headliners Muse, Arcade Fire and the newly reunited Outkast. Also on the bill are Motorhead, Queens Of The Stone Age, Beck, Lana Del Rey, The Knife, Foster The People, Haim, Lorde and Disclosure will also play alongside Skrillex, Nas, Kid Cudi, ASAP Ferg and Chance The Rapper.
