Matt Damon has revealed how he took his daughter to a Prince gig in London eight years ago – an occasion that happened to be her very first concert.
Damon was appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night in the US, and recounted the tale after being prompted by the host to elaborate on the story that he told to GQ for his recent cover story.
The 45-year-old actor then told Fallon of how he took his then 10-year-old daughter to a Prince show in London around eight years ago, where, with his wife, they managed to get seats right at the front of the venue. “We could reach up and touch Prince,” Damon said. “I turned to my wife and said, ‘We’ve completely ruined this child. This is her first concert!'”
He then recounted how he and his family then had the chance to meet the late musician backstage after the show, where Damon said he attempted to make small talk with Prince. “I asked him, ‘You still live in Minnesota don’t you?’ And he just turns and looks me right in the eye and he goes, ‘I live inside my own heart, Matt Damon.'”
