The diminutive popster turns 43 - and Minneapolis will host a week of festivities in the star's honour...

PRINCE is planning a three-night stand in his native MINNEAPOLIS, home of his PAISLEY PARK empire, to celebrate his birthday next month.

The gigs will take place at the Xcel Energy Centre in St Paul on June 15, 16 and 17 to mark his 43rd birthday.

They will tie in with a week of celebrations from June 11 – 17, which include listening parties where his new album ‘The Rainbow Children’ – which is being released online through his NPG Music Club – will be played in full. After the listening parties, discussion sessions will be held which are being filmed for a forthcoming documentary.

There will also be club nights held at Paisley Park with “special guests” performing live.

Prince has been playing throughout the US this year on his ‘Hit And Run’ tour.
