D’Angelo paid a special visit to ‘The Tonight Show’ last night (April 26) to honour the late Prince.

Alongside comedy actress Maya Rudolph and Gretchen Lieberum, who front the Prince tribute band Princess, D’Angelo performed a passionate rendition of ‘Sometimes It Snows In April’.

Many artists have paid tribute to Prince since his death, either on social media or during live performances. Bruce Springsteen opened his New York gig on Saturday by performing a passionate version of ‘Purple Rain’ while Noel Gallagher dedicated ‘Live Forever’ to him during a gig in Glasgow.

Elsewhere Mumford and Sons and The 1975 also made nods to the late star as news of his passing broke. Chris Martin played ‘Raspberry Beret’ with a group of school children at a charity fundraiser.

In a statement published on her website, Kate Bush described Prince as “playful” and “mind-blowingly gifted.”

Meanwhile, President Barack Obama stated “Today, the world lost a creative icon” while musicians including Madonna, Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, Frank Ocean, The Weeknd and Katy Perry lead the tributes on social media.
