Psy, in London to perform at Sunday’s Capital FM Summertime Ball, spoke to Radio 1‘s Scott Mills yesterday (June 10) and revealed he has a meeting scheduled with May.
“You remember that I was and I am a really huge fan of rock band Queen? It seems like I’m going to have a brunch with Brian May tomorrow,” he told the DJ.
Asked if he was plotting a collaboration with the badger-loving axeman, Psy replied: “Seems like it. I don’t know, I’m just going to eat tomorrow, but I’m super excited. The band was an inspiration to me since I was 14 or 15 until now.”
Psy was recently the victim of an impersonator who attended the Cannes Film Festival in France, gaining access to VIP parties and appearing on television after tricking people into thinking he was the Korean pop star. The unknown man partied with stars including Skyfall actress Naomie Harris, picked up free gifts, danced on a French TV show and is also believed to have signed on to appear at the Monaco gala.
Meanwhile, Brian May has busied himself in recent months with lobbying against the government’s plans to control the badger population in the UK. Raising awareness of the cause through music, May has worked with fellow guitarist Slash on the song ‘Badger Swagger’ and also teamed up with actor Brian Blessed on ‘The Badger Song’.
