What is it with these hip-hoppers? Jay-Z, DMX and now Sean Combs...

Puff Daddy has hinted that he is ready to retire following the release of his forthcoming album ‘PD5’ this autumn.

The hip-hop star announced his decision to follow in the footsteps of Jay-Z and Puff Daddy, as he readies himself for his acting debut next month.

Puff Daddy said: “I don’t want nobody to just go crazy or nothing. It’s not going to be as dramatic or traumatic as Jay-Z retiring.”

He added: “I got a chance to have my dream come true, and I wanted to make sure I made the decision as to when I dropped my last album. If I don’t feel like this album is an incredible piece of work, then I’m cool with the albums I’ve done. I don’t have to put out another album.”

Puff Daddy is due to make his stage debut on April 26 in New York, taking the leading role in Broadway’s ‘A Raisin In The Sun’.

He told MTV News: “I was saying the other day I would rather run another marathon. I never imagined how hard it would be and how hard it’s been. I have so much respect for people in the theatre. You can’t do 10 or 15 takes. It’s all live. It’s like life in motion.”
