The star intends to record an LP of completely new material...

PUFF DADDY will use no samples on his forthcoming new album and instead record completely new material, NME.COM can exclusively reveal.

A source close to the rap mogul told NME.COM that though he had built a name and reputation by sampling a host of artists, from The Police to Duran Duran and Led Zeppelin,Puffy has instead been creating every sound from scratch. The source says the limited amount they have heard of the album, which at present is without a title or release date, sounds “amazing”.

It will mark Puffy‘s first solo material since 1999’s ‘Forever’ album, and more significantly his first since he was cleared of any part in a nightclub shooting incident earlier this Spring. His co-defendant and former protege Shyne was sentenced to ten years in the notorious Rykers Island prison for his part in the incident.

Meanwhile, Puffy pops up as guest on the first release by new Bad Boy Recordings artist G-Dep. He guests with Black Rob on ‘Let’s Get It’, a track that is proving a hit on US radio airplays charts and in the country’s clubs. It will be released in the UK shortly.
