It's the all-new P.Diddy...
SEAN ‘PUFFY’ COMBS has said his name change to P. DIDDY will also be accompanied by a radical overhaul of his image.
As reported last week on NME.COM, Combs declared his intention to change his name in summer following his recent acquittal on gun-possession and bribery charges in the US.
Now, speaking to MTV news in the US, Combs revealed that the traditional, materialistic, fast living image of the rapper will change when he returns to the music industry later in the year.
He said: “We used to talk about wanting to get some money, but that’s when hip hop was based on your dreams and your fantasy. The whole thing now is the dreams and fantasies were achieved, and you don’t want to make it the focal point. You can’t keep beating that dead horse…that was a time for us – there are different eras in the dynasty. We had our bling-bling era.”
He continued: “You’re gonna see from our videos that it’s all about the performance – the performance, the attitude and the dancing.”
Combs concluded: “There’s a way to do it so that’s not the only image they see. No matter what in life, there has to be balance. So I got to be responsible for my own image and making sure that it has balance and that you see the many sides of P. Diddy.”
