Pulled Apart By Horses pull Leeds Festival set at last minute due to bassist collapsing backstage

The band missed their 12.55pm set

Pulled Apart By Horses today (August 24) cancelled their Leeds Festival appearance at the very last minute beause bassist Rob Lee collapsed backstage.

The Leeds band were due to perform on the Main Stage at 12.55pm.

With their backdrop in place and a crowd assembled, a message appeared on the big screens reading: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, Pulled Apart By Horses will be unable to perform.” The audience booed loudly in response.

A roadie then appeared on stage to say that the performance had been cancelled due to illness, and that the band send their love. A tweet later confirmed it is bassist Rob Lee who was taken ill.

A statement on the band’s website reads: “Sadly we have had to pull our set at Leeds Festival today. Rob collapsed due to illness around 1 hour before we were due on stage which meant he was unable to perform. He is in very capable hands right now and being well looked after.”

“We’re massively sorry about being unable to perform in our home town and we’ll be back very soon. Thanks guys we hope you understand and we hope you have a great festival.”

Pulled Apart By Horses tweeted about their performance as recently as an hour before their scheduled stage time, and tweeted a picture of them arriving on site this morning.
