MARIANNE FAITHFULL has confirmed her collaboration with BILLY CORGAN, while PULP are the latest band rumoured to be recording with the ’60s icon.
Last month, NME.COM exclusively revealed that the ex-Smashing Pumpkins vocalist was planning to record with Faithfull on material for her as-yet-untitled new album.
Now, her manager Francois Ravard has told MTV news that the pair, who performed together at the Chicago Metro club on March 22, met last week in a Chicago studio to record three tracks.
The pair recorded two original compositions and one unnamed cover version, with Faithfull writing the lyrics and Corgan writing and producing the music.
NME.COM also revealed that Beck, members of Blur and Eurythmics guitarist Dave Stewart have also been involved in the project, due for release later in the year.
Faithfull has also revealed that she has recorded one track with Pulp and another with French vocalist Etienne Daho for the follow-up to her 1999 record ‘Vagabond Ways’.
