JARVIS COCKER makes his debut as movie director...

JARVIS COCKER (pictured performing with Pulp)[/I] will make his debut as a film director when he works on Tube Tales, a compendium of ten short films by different directors based on the true life experiences of London Underground passengers.

Other directors working on the film include Ewan McGregor, Jude Law, Armando Ianucci and Gilles (Small Faces) MacKinnon.

The stories were selected from entries in a London listings magazine Time Out competition.

Jarvis, who is currently in Japan, doesn’t yet know which of the stories he will direct. It has been a long standing ambition for Cocker to direct a film. He was at one time tipped to make one of the films in ‘The Acid House‘ trilogy; eventually director Paul McGuigan directed all three segments.

Tube Tales begins shooting in November and will be shown on Sky Premiere in Spring next year.
