The star-studded DJ set get to work on special tracks which will feature on two limited edition single releases...

Pulp frontman JARVIS COCKER, Adrian Sherwood and TWO LONE SWORDSMEN have remixed DEATH IN VEGAS for two limited edition single releases on September 18 through CONCRETE.

The singles will contain special mixes of ‘Neptune City’ and ‘Dirge’, taken from the band’s Mercury Music Prize-nominated album ‘The Contino Sessions’. Both will be vinyl releases and strictly limited to 1,000 copies each.

The new version of ‘Neptune City’ is produced and mixed by Richard Fearless and Tim Holmes, and will feature two remixes of the track by Two Lone Swordsmen‘Neptune City Concrete Funk 1’ and ‘Neptune City Concrete Funk 2’.

The second release, remixes of Vegas‘ former single ‘Dirge’, which featured on an advertisement for Levi’s jeans in the UK, will feature the ‘Cossack Apocalypse Mix’ by Pulp vocalist Jarvis Cocker and bassist Steve Mackey under the guise of The Chocolate Layers.

The pair have previously remixed the Black Box Recorder single ‘The Facts Of Life’ under the same moniker. There is also an additional remix by Adrian Sherwood.

According to reports in today’s UK tabloids, ‘The Contino Sessions’ was the album which emerged as second favourite amongst judges for the Mercury Music Prize, beaten eventually by ‘The Hour Of Bewilderbeast’ by Badly Drawn Boy.
