Ian Brown, Audioweb, Warm Jets and The Smiles are the first names to confirm their NME Stage appearances. There will be six stages and tents at this year’s festival: the Main Stage, NME stage, Radio 1 Evening Session Stage (in association with King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut), a Slam tent, a new talent stage and a ceilidh tent.
This year there will be a bigger campsite with improved facilities including showers, 24-hour cafis and drinks stalls. There will also be bus services from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Perth to the festival site. Camping costs ‘7.50 per person for the whole weekend. Festival-goers are urged to book their camping tickets at the same time as their festival tickets. This year’s festival has a capacity of 44,000 per day.
T In The Park tickets cost ‘52.50 for the weekend or ‘29.50 for one day. Both prices are subject to a booking fee and are available by credit card booking from Way Ahead on 0141-339-8383. Tickets are also available in person from selected Scottish ticket agencies from the end of this month. The T In The Park information hotline is 07000-113-114. Calls cost 15 pence a minute peak rate, eight pence all other times.
Pulp, additionally, are to headline a one-day show in Finsbury Park on July 25. The co-promoters of the event, The Mean Fiddler Organisation and Metropolis, are currently lining up the support bill. Tickets for the concert are ’23 and are available without a booking fee if paid for in cash at the following venues: Kentish Town Forum, Highbury Garage, Jazz Cafi/Camden Ticket shop, Harlesden Mean Fiddler, Finsbury Park Powerhaus (evenings only) and Ladbroke Grove Subterania (evenings only).
