Josh Homme's band warm up for Guns N' Roses on the Main Stage
As the band were halfway through the second song of their hour-long set, ‘The Lost Art Of Keeping A Secret’, frontman Josh Homme shouted: “I want this loud so turn it up for these motherfuckers. I’m sick of this quiet shit.”
Within seconds the sound was amped up considerably as his band rocked their way through a hit-laden set which was similar to their Reading Festival slot on Friday (August 27), but for the addition of ‘Long Slow Goodbye’ and ‘Monsters In The Parasol’.
Introducing the latter, Homme revealed: “This song is about LSD, AC/DC, HIV and back to LSD again.”
Later, as he prepared to launch into their biggest hit ‘No One Knows’, he took a pop at the crowd when he asked: “Are you having a good time? Really? Are you sure? Then fucking act like it.”
He then joked: “This song everyone knows unless, of course, you’ve had your head up your arse for the last 10 years.”
During the track Homme ordered the stage crew to shine the lights on the crowd and branded them “fucking beautiful”.
Signing off with ‘A Song For The Dead’, Homme said: “Thank you Leeds, we are Queens Of The Stone Age, we’ll see you another fucking day. Have a lovely fucking evening.”
Queens Of The Stone Age played:
‘Feel Good Hit Of The Summer’
‘The Lost Art Of Keeping A Secret’

‘Sick Sick Sick’
‘Monsters In The Parasol’
‘Burn The Witch’
