Queens Of The Stone Age battle the undead

Band star in their own scary movie

Queens Of The Stone Age do battle with a marauding army of skeletons in their new video.

The clip for ‘Burn The Witch’ was directed by Liam Lynch, who enjoyed a hit of his own a few years ago with ‘United States Of Whatever’.

And the medieval-set clip sees the band dress up in wizard cloaks and peasant robes as they take on the undead army.

Josh Homme gave MTV the lowdown: “The Queens Of The Stone Age have teamed up with multimedia wizardbrain Liam Lynch to make the video for ‘Burn The Witch’, a home-made affair that’s just in time for Halloween. For the band, playing both the roles of cast and crew paid ginormous dividends, in the form of a video that cuts the heads off all contemporaries (literally).”

And the video features guest appearances from former Masters Of Reality leader Chris Goss, UNKLE and Eagles Of Death Metal‘s Jessie ‘The Devil’ Hughes, who play a torch-bearing mob who, according to Homme, “foolishly play with the fires of rumour, only to risk being burned by its treacherous flames”.

He continued: “Nothing can extinguish the eerie visual melee that Lynch serves up hot, because it’s a story so fantastical that you’ll do more than stare mouth agape, you’ll relate. Do not be as foolish as the mob! Watch ‘Burn The Witch’ and learn a thing or two about a thing or two, before it’s too late.”

A teaser of the video can be seen at qotsa.com.
