Queens Of The Stone Age have revealed all about their forthcoming fourth album.
The collection will be called ‘Lullabies To Paralyze’ and will be released on March 21 2005 in the UK and in the US a day later, according to Billboard.
But while a target date is set, the band are still putting the finishing touches to the record. On the band’s official website, multi-instrumentalist Troy Van Leeuwen explains how they are just finishing one of the last songs, ‘The Fun Machine Took A Shit And Died’.
He said: “I think (that) is a good title for a tune so strange. The session started out relatively normal, then took a turn for the bizarre, once longtime friends Dean Ween, Chris Goss and Jesse ‘The Devil’ Hughes scarred this song with their musical branding irons.”
Ween fronts the alt.rock band of the same name, Goss produces the Desert Sessions and is a veteran of The Masters Of Reality, while Hughes fronts Josh Homme’s side-project Eagles Of Death Metal.
As previously reported, Shirley Manson from Garbage and Homme’s girlfriend Brody Dalle from Queens Of The Stone Age also turn up on the album.
Following the sacking of bass player Nick Oliveri, the current [a][/a] line-up is made up by Homme, Van Leeuwen, drummer Joey Castillo, guitarist Dave Catching and bass player Alain Johannes.
