Queens Of The Stone Age cover Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’ – watch

Josh Homme sang the Number One song in BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge

Queens Of The Stone Age covered Robin Thicke‘s hit single ‘Blurred Lines’ in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge yesterday (June 10).

Click above to see the band perform an acoustic version of the track, the original of which features Pharrell and TI. The song is the currently Number One in the Official UK Single Chart and is the UK’s fastest-selling single of the year. ‘Blurred Lines’ has also topped the charts in Australia, Canada, Germany and Ireland.

In the Queens Of The Stone Age version, frontman Josh Homme can be seen using a pill bottle as a shaker. He is accompanied by Troy Van Leeuwen and Dean Fertita on the stripped back version of the track.

Queens Of The Stone Age were overtaken by Disclosure in the race for this week’s UK Number One album spot. Josh Homme’s band were Number One in last week’s midweek charts but were eventually beaten by the British dance duo. Meanwhile, Elton John – a guest on ‘…Like Clockwork’ – has recently declared the group’s current LP “probably the best rock album by any band in about five or six years”.
