The R&B star, facing child pornography charges in the US, triumphs over the latest rap sensation...

R KELLY has knocked 50 CENT off the top of the US album chart.

The star, currently facing child pornography charges in the US, saw ‘Chocolate Factory’ sell 532,000 copies last week. 50 Cent’s ‘Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ was narrowly edged into second spot shifting 520,000. The rapper has now sold over two million copies of the record in the US in a little under three weeks.

‘Chocolate Factory’ is R Kelly‘s third Billboard Number One.

The star was arrested last year on 21 counts of child pornography. The charges stem from a videotape that is said to show the embattled artist having sex with a 14-year-old girl. He is still awaiting trial in Chicago.

Multi Grammy Award winner Norah Jones stayed at Number Three with ‘Come Away With Me’. The chart was compiled using sales figures taken before the Grammys, and she is expected to climb higher in next week’s chart. The album has already sold 3.6million in the US.
