The controversial singer will take off on the five-day Caribbean jaunt next year – with tickets ranging in price from $999 (£645) t0 $2,999 (£1,930) – with on-board entertainment set to include gigs, salsa lessons and fashion shows.
R Kelly promoted the Love Letter Cruise on his Twitter account and seemed to hint that the trip would be repeated every yea, telling his fans : “Come aboard and join me as I sail away on my first annual Love Letter Cruise.”
R Kelly is not the only artist who will be taking a nautical trip with his fans next year. In January, Weezer will set off on their ‘Weezer Cruise’ festival, with the band set to showcase their much-loved records ‘Pinkerton’ and ‘The Blue as they sail from Miami to Mexico.
Earlier this year, R Kelly revealed that he had decided to call his new studio album ‘Black Panties’. He claimed that new LP will see him return to the sound of his 1993 debut solo record ’12 Play’ and will be an “R&B-like thriller album”.
