Radiohead have announced details of a new North American tour beginning in March. The band, who have recently completed touring in Japan and Australasia, are rumoured to have invited Spiritualized along on the tour as support on several dates. Bjork will be the support on the last dates of the tour.
The US dates are: (March 28) Bayou Palace Theatre, Houston Texas, (29) Fair Park Music Hall, Dallas, Texas, (April 1) Universal Amphitheatre, Los Angeles, California, (2) Bill Graham Civic, San Francisco, California, (4) Salem Armoury Arena, Salem, Oregon, (5) Paramount Thetare, Seattle, Washington, (6) PNE Forum, Vancouver, Canada, (8) Max Bell Centre, Calgary, Canada, (12) Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto, (13) Molson Centre, Montreal, (15) Worcester Centrum, Worcester, Massachusetts, (17) Radio City Music Hall, New York.
All dates from April 12 feature Bjork in support.
Meanwhile, Radiohead drummer Phil Selway says Radiohead are considering recording their next material in New Zealand, at the studio at Karekare Beach where Crowded House recorded their final studio album, ‘Together Alone’.
Selway told the New Zealand Press Association during the band’s recent visit “we’ve been looking at studios to record the next record in, and when we were in Auckland we went out to Karekare to look at one. It’s the same one that Crowded House used. It’s such an amazing place.”
It will be some time before Radiohead are ready to record another album, however. Bassist Colin Greenwood indicated last month that Radiohead will be taking six months off before starting work on their follow-up to ‘OK Computer’.
