Radiohead release altered version of ‘Daydreaming’ for fan competition

Band are asking fans to complete the album's series of vignettes

Radiohead have released an alternative version of ‘Daydreaming’, as they ask fans to complete their vignette series.

Every Friday since releasing their ninth studio album ‘A Moon Shaped Pool’, Radiohead have posted artist-created vignettes for each album track to their Instagram account.

However, today (July 15) they’ve called upon fans to create the last vignette, asking them to download the new version of ‘Daydreaming’ before posting their visuals on social media.

This version of ‘Daydreaming’ features strings which aren’t present on the album version. To enter the competition, they’ve told fans to submit their video with the hashtag #RHVignette on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook.

The band will then choose their favourite and share the vignette on their official website. The competition closes on July 30.

Thom Yorke has admitted he’s surprised by the success of Radiohead’s new album ‘A Moon Shaped Pool’. Yorke told Q: ‘We expected the opposite reaction. I cherish the band, but I don’t expect anyone else to.” Yorke added that his favourite song on the new album is ‘Daydreaming’ “When we do it right.”

You can hear the alternative version via the band’s website.
