Radiohead and Morrissey set for V

Bloc Party and Kasabian join the bill too

Radiohead and Morrissey have been announced as the headliners for the V Festival 2006.

Radiohead will headline Chelmsford on the Saturday (August 19) night and Staffordshire on the Sunday (August 20). Morrissey will headline alternating nights.

Beck, Bloc Party, Kasabian, Paul Weller, Editors and The Ordinary Boys are also scheduled to play.

Annoucing the bill, festival director Bob Angus said: “We’re very proud to be presenting Radiohead, one of the most important bands in live music today, as headliners for this year’s V. To secure Morrissey– a man that has influenced so many great artists – as the other main stage headliner ensures yet another excellent V line-up. It’s acts like these that give our festival its unique eclectic feel and keeps our audience coming back for more.”

Other acts confirmed for the festival include Keane, Faithless, Fatboy Slim, Groove Armada, The Charlatans, Starsailor, The Go! Team, The Magic Numbers, Sugababes and Manic Street PreachersJames Dean Bradfield.

The festival will take place between August 19-20 at Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire. Tickets are set to go on sale on March 3 at 9am.
