Evanescence remain at number one on single chart...
Last week’s number one ‘Bring Me To Life’ by Christian rockers Evanescence remains at the top of the UK single chart today (June 15) while, as expected, Radiohead go straight to the top of the album chart with ‘Hail To The Thief.
The album, the band’s fifth, has thumped all-comers seeing off othe heavyweights Stereophonics and Metallica, who drop to four on the chart.
It’s a busy week on the single top 10, with five new entries.
The highest comes from Christina Aguilera at three with ‘Fighter’. Dannii Minogue pops in at five with ‘Don’t Want To Lose This Feeling’, while Amy Studt, Britain’s answer to Avril Lavigne, goes in at six with ‘Misfit’. Euro hitmaker DJ Sammy scores at eight with ‘Sunlight’ and B2K take the final place at 10 with ‘Girlfriend’.
Jennifer Lopez just misses the top 10, going in at 11 with ‘I’m Glad’, four ahead of Linkin Park at 15 with ‘Faint’. The Thrills continue their assault on the charts, going in at 17 with ‘Big Sur’.
The sheen appears to be coming off Darius’ career. The made-for-TV star can only manage number 21 with new track ‘Girl In The Moon’, one ahead of former NME cover-stars AFI at 22 with ‘Girl’s Not Grey’.
On the album chart, only Annie Lennox follow Radiohead with a new entry, charting at three with ‘Bare’.
