Fans come from all over the world to see the show in Dublin...

Fans travelled from all over the world to witness the first night of RADIOHEAD’s ‘club’ tour of the UK and IRELAND last night (May 17).

As previously reported, the group are playing a number of gigs, their smallest UK shows in years, prior to the release of their new album ‘Hail To The Thief’ on June 9. Fans could only get tickets from the band’s official website.

Up to twelve hours before the doors opened at yesterday’s opening night at the Dublin Olympia, fans were waiting outside, having travelled from as far away as Japan and the US to see the gigs.

“These are the perfect shows to see for fans,” one told NME.COM. “In the US where I’m from, Radiohead play arena shows, so this evening I’ll get a completely different experience.”

The show saw a mixture of new material and old classics. Of the new songs, the band gave the first live performance of both ‘The Gloaming’ and ‘Backdrifts’, while older songs included ‘Just’ and ‘Paranoid Android’
