RADIOHEAD are to provide a soundtrack to budding film-makers to help younger people come to terms with mental health issues.
The band has handed over the track, ‘Meeting In The Aisle’, so would-be directors can use it in their short films as part of an MTV initiative.
Ananova reports the channel has teamed up with the charities Samaritans and Mind Out For Mental Health for the ‘Need To Talk’ campaign.
The song, a 1997 B-side, been donated for free by the band. Drummer Phil Selway, who works as a Samaritan, said: “When the biggest killer of young men in the UK is themselves, anything the band can do to draw attention to the issue of emotional health is worthwhile.”
Young British film-makers are being asked to submit films or animations from 30 to 60 seconds interpreting or responding to the phrase “need to talk”. Films must be submitted by April 25.
