Radiohead stars JONNY and COLIN GREENWOOD were interviewed on German radio last night (June 6), and hinted that their eagerly-awaited new album will be released in October, according to the unofficial band website [url=]www.followmearound.com.
The pair appeared on the show ‘Kultkomplex’ on the German radio station Einslive.
Radiohead are currently in the middle of a promotional tour of Europe to promote their autumn live shows. The band have so far confirmed a handful of dates in September and October, playing in their own specially- constructed tent holding in the region of 10,000 people.
The dates confirmed so far are at the Brussels Werchter Park (September 11), Nijmegen Goffertpark, Holland (15) and Paris Esplanade (19-20).
Radiohead vocalist Thom Yorke has revealed on the official Radiohead messageboard that the band may include more than one support on their autumn dates, with an emphasis on electronica rather than guitar-based bands. He said: “It’s possible we might have two supports. It depends on logistics in the tent. I’m trying to keep an open mind, see who can fit in where. doesn’t help much does it? Sigur Ros sent me their album which is really great. There’s lots of other possibilities though. I’m surprised about how much I’m getting to like the Broadcast album. It’s really growing on me. But we want to ask a load of electro people as well.”
The UK dates of the September tour are expected to be announced on Jo Whiley‘s Radio 1 show this coming Monday (June 12).
