Rage Against The Machine reportedly forming supergroup with Public Enemy, Cypress Hill members

Online countdown teasing Prophets Of Rage announcement

Rage Against The Machine‘s mysterious online countdown will reportedly end with the reveal of a supergroup comprising members of that band with Public Enemy and Cypress Hill.

As reported, new website Prophets Of Rage launched this week, showing a countdown that will end on June 1. It comes along with the hashtag #TakeThePowerBack. Posters showing the same message have also been spotted in Los Angeles.

Initially it was thought that the countdown could be Rage Against The Machine teasing new material or their first live shows since 2011.

However, sources close to Billboard report that Prophets of Rage are a supergroup featuring three-quarters of Rage Against the Machine—Tom Morello, Tim Commerford, and Brad Wilk—plus Chuck D of Public Enemy and Cypress Hill’s B-Real.

The countdown will see the big reveal of this line-up with a gig at the Hollywood Palladium reportedly scheduled for June 3. Zack de la Rocha is not believed to be involved in the project.

Last year, Rage Against The Machine bassist Tim Commerford indicated that his band may tour again.

However, Zack de la Rocha is known to be working on long-awaited solo material with Run The Jewels producer and rapper El-P.
