The solo stars appear alongside the likes of U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Kiss...

KISS, PETE YORN and Ramones are the final additions to the line-up on ‘WE’RE A HAPPY FAMILY’, the forthcoming Tom Waits

tribute album, joining a glittering array including U2, METALLICA, EDDIE VEDDER, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS and MARILYN MANSON.

After months of work, the album is now in its final stages. The man responsible for the project, Rob Zombie, says it is being mastered. On a posting on his website, he has set a provisional release date of November 5 for the US. No date has been finalised for the UK.

“The project just snowballed,” Zombie said. “You start a project, and everyone is like, ‘Well, who else is on it?’ ‘Well, no one yet.’ So everyone waits to see what everyone else is doing. As we started confirming people like Red Hot Chili Peppers and U2, everyone was like, ‘Now I want to do it!'”

Kiss cover ‘Do You Remember Rock and Roll Radio?’, while Pete Yorn works through ‘I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend’ and [/a] covers ‘Return of Jackie and Judy’.

After months of procrastination, Metallica have finally settled on a version of ’53rd & 3rd’. They had been rehearsing at least three other tracks, including ‘Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue’, but settled on the song penned by Dee Dee Ramone as tribute to the late bassist, who died in June.

It has also been revealed that longtime [a] fanatic Stephen King will write the liner notes for the album.
