The band add more dates for when Johnny gets better...
Razorlight have added more dates to their rescheduled UK tour.
As previously reported, the band scrapped this week’s UK dates after singer Johnny Borrell fell ill on the group’s North American tour.
Borrell began to feel sick after the band’s show in Denver (January 22), and his condition progressively worsened as the group trekked through shows in San Diego and Phoenix last week.
After seeing a doctor in LA, Borrell was diagnosed with a “laryngitis type infection” and prescribed a round of antibiotics to fight the throat infection. He flew back to Britain and under the advice of the physician has been ordered to rest his voice and not speak.
Razorlight will now play their UK tour in March, and have added dates at Blackpool Empress Ballroom (March 19) and Wolverhampton Civic Centre (20).
The new dates are:
Manchester Apollo (March 13 – replaces Friday February 4)
Manchester Apollo (14 – replaces Saturday February 5)
Glasgow Academy (16 – replaces Monday February 6)
Glasgow Academy (17 – replaces Tuesday February 7)
Blackpool Empress Ballroom (19)
Wolverhampton Civic Centre (20)
London Alexandra Palace (23 – replaces Friday February 11)
London Alexandra Palace (24 – replaces Saturday February 12)
A statement issued to NME.COM reads: “Tickets already issued remain valid for the corresponding new dates. ie) first night tickets for Manchester Apollo on 4th Feb are still valid for first night Manchester Apollo on 13th March.
“The bookers politely request that anyone already in possession of a ticket, who is unable to attend on the rescheduled date, should seek a refund from the point of sale before 1st March 2005.
“Razorlight would like to apologise for any problems that may have arisen due to the enforced rescheduling of shows.”
