Band kick off main stage day two with late dash to festival site
Paramore made their set at Carling Weekend: Reading Festival today (August 25) by the skin of their teeth.
As previously reported, the Tennessee band’s set was in jeopardy thanks to flight cancellations from the US. However, the band managed to avoid cancelling for the second year running.
“We had to cancel last year because I was really sick” frontwoman Hayley Williams told the crowd “and I think it’s time for another apology, but our flight got here today and now we’re all together”.
The band wore red trousers to match Williams scarlet hairstyle, who the crowd pumped in the high temperature noon sunshine as she told them:
“Discover something new, enjoy being suffocated by music today because it is a gift. And that’s my sermon for now.”
Leaving the crowd Williams bade them farewell with a vow to return to Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds Festival next year saying “It’s been amazing. This is our first year at Reading and it looks like this! I guess we’ll be seeing you next year huh?”
Paramore played Carling Weekend: Leeds Festivals tomorrow (August 26).
