Maximo Park ‘speed’ into Carling Weekend: Reading Festival

Paul Smith and co rock the main stage on Day One

Maximo Park rocked the Main Stage at Carling Weekend: Reading Festival this evening (August 24).

Opening with ‘Girls Who Like Guitars’, the band tore through an upbeat set as the perfect summer evening closed in.

After a gloriously sunny day, the mood of the crowd was ecstatic as Paul Smith and co blasted out the hits and fan favourites, from ‘The Coast Is Always Changing’ to ‘Our Velocity’ and ‘By The Monument’.

Competing with Lethal Bizzle and Reverend And The Makers on other stages proved no contest for the band as ‘Apply Some Pressure’ prompted much gleeful beer-throwing in preparation for the rest of the evening on the Main Stage, set to include performances by Interpol, Kings Of Leon and Razorlight.

Maximo Park played:

‘Girls Who Like Guitars’

‘The Coast Is Always Changing’

‘Our Velocity’

‘Parisian Skies’

‘Books From Boxes’

‘By The Monument’

‘Apply Some Pressure’

‘Going Missing’

‘The Unshockable’
