Listen to the epic ‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ soundtrack

Fancy a Western?

The soundtrack for the acclaimed game Red Dead Redemption 2 has been released. Check it out below.

Last week, Rockstar GAMES confirmed that the sequel to the acclaimed and hugely successful Western-themed game would feature music by the likes of Arca and Brian Eno collaborator Daniel Lanois – as well as Queens Of The Stone Age drummer Jon Theodore and saxophonist Colin Stetson.

Woody Jackson returns to the franchise to write the score itself, having also been behind the music to Grand Theft Auto V. Daniel Lanois has also created “all of the vocal moments” in the game’s music with “additional vocal performances from a range of award-winning artists”.

Gamers have since reacted in delight to the game – with some arguing that it rivals Grand Theft Auto V as one of the best platform games of the century. Now, the celebrated full soundtrack and score is also available for online streaming:

Set in 1899, Red Dead Redemption tells the story of former outlaw John Marston, whose wife and son are taken hostage by the government in ransom for his vigilante services.

Sharing the new trailer on Twitter, Rockstar Games captioned the video with, “An epic tale of life in America at the dawn of the modern age. Coming October 26, 2018 to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One systems.”
