Host Greg Gutfeld calls RHCP ‘a poor man’s Faith No More’
Red Hot Chili Peppers have officially been called “the worst band on the planet” by Fox News.
The perma-controversial US news network made the announcement on its show The Five after showing an item about Flea playing bass with a gorilla called Koko.
After the report, anchorman Greg Gutfeld said: “As most musicians know, this is a vast improvement over Red Hot Chili Peppers, who are the worst band on the planet.”
Gutfeld’s co-host Eric Bolling tried to defend RHCP, saying: “The producers said ‘You shoud do this story’, but I said ‘No, Gutfeld is going to say the ape is better than Flea.’”
At this, Gutfeld resumed his attack on the band, who headline Reading And Leeds Festival this weekend. Gutfeld said: “That ape is better than Anthony Kiedis. By the way, the ape is 45, which is half the age of Anthony Kiedis. Red Hot Chili Peppers: poor man’s Faith No More, don’t ever forget it.”
The attack on Red Hot Chili Peppers is less controversial than some of Fox News’ other recent claims, which have included saying Kendrick Lamar is a bad influence on young black men and slamming Beyonce’s Super Bowl Halftime show.
