Red Hot Chili Peppers to perform at Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich’s NYE party

Russian oligarch has splashed out over £5 million on end of 2011 event

Red Hot Chili Peppers are set to perform at the New Year’s Eve party of Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.

Abramovich, who owns Chelsea Football Club, will host the party on his £58 million estate, which is situated on the Caribbean island of St Barts. He has reportedly spent £5 million on the party, with the punk funkers serving as the evening’s main entertainment, reports The Daily Telegraph

Prince, Beyonce and Gwen Stefani performed at the oligarch’s end of year bash in 2009, while the likes of Kanye West and Orlando Bloom were on the guest list.

Red Hot Chili Peppers will return to the UK and Ireland next summer to play three huge outdoor shows. The band will play Knebworth Park near Stevenage on June 23, Sunderland‘s Stadium Of Light on June 24 and Dublin‘s Croke Park on June 26.

The band released their 10th studio album ‘I’m With You’ earlier this summer, their first with new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer.
