The drummer joined the Nottingham musician on stage for 'Slumville Sunrise'
The drummer spoke to Edith Bowman on BBC Four ahead of the Californian band’s headline set at the festival, during which he explained how the collaboration came about.
“I went on with my buddy Jake and played a song, it was fun,” he said of his cameo on ‘Slumville Sunrise’. “I played with Jake on ‘Shangri-La’ – the one before the last one – so we know each other pretty well.
“It was nice cos he was like ‘We’re on the same bill at T, come down’, so I was like ‘sure, man’. [He said] ‘don’t break the drums, though, alright?’ I’ll try!”
He continued: “I get excited and I can’t help it. It’s the only way I know how to do it. He’s a great guy. I like him and his band are good people. Obviously, he’s a great musician.”
