The clip depicts an unsettling vision of Los Angeles
The Red Hot Chili Peppers have shared a new animated video for their song ‘Sick Love’.
The track is taken from the long-running four-piece’s most recent album, ‘The Getaway’. The record became the eleventh studio album that’s been released by the Chili Peppers, and was particularly notable for being produced by Danger Mouse – the first time that the band have used anyone bar Rick Rubin on production since their 1989 album ‘Mother’s Milk’.
The band have today (December 5) unveiled the visuals for ‘Sick Love’, the third single to be released from ‘The Getaway’. Directed and illustrated by the Newcastle-born songwriter Beth Jeans Houghton, the video follows an Australian woman who bids her family goodbye and makes the move to Los Angeles. However, once she lands, the protagonist finds strange and unsettling things happening on the streets of LA – an animated version of Chilis frontman Anthony Kieidis can also be seen, making an animated, nude cameo.
