Regular Fries have teamed up with rapper Kool Keith, Chemical Brothers collaborator STEVE DUB and MERCURY REV and FLAMING LIPS producer DAVE FRIDMANN on their new album ‘WAR ON PLASTIC PLANTS’, out on October 9 through JBO, nme.com can reveal.

The album is preceded by a new four track EP ‘Smoking Cigars With The Pharoahs’, out on July 31, which features a mix of ‘Fused’ by Sabres Of Paradise founder and Primal Scream collaborator Jagz Kooner.

Fries keyboard player Paul Moody told nme.com: “We wanted to make a totally modern, psychedelic record so we got involved with people like this.”

Legendary rapper Kool Keith appears on new album track ‘Coke And Smoke’. Moody explained: “We all loved the Dr Octagon stuff, so we sent him this mad, four-page letter. We gave him the title ‘Coke And Smoke’ and said that the song was about aliens trying out everything that humans do to have a good time.

“He loved the idea, so he did a crazy rap. It’s out of this world, he’s one of the last great visionaries. To have him on board with us on top of everybody else was just the icing on the cake really.”

Regular Fries tour at the end of the month, playing: Brighton Big Beat Boutique (July 28) Northampton Roadmenders (29) Nottingham Social (August 1) Newcastle Ballistic Rocket (2) Glasgow King Tut’s (3) Newport TJs (4)
