And it's in a different venue this time...
REM have rescheduled the GLASGOW show they had to cancel through illness last month.
The band were forced to axe two UK dates after bassist Mike Mills was taken to hospital with severe flu-like symptoms. The Sheffield Hallam Arena gig had already been rearranged for June 15, and now the new Glasgow date will take place the night before.
The venue has changed – with the SECC unavailable that night, the rockers will play a big top in nearby Glasgow Green.
Original tickets for the February 22 show must be exchanged for new tickets for the rearranged gig.
The band’s official website gave the following statement:
“If you have bought tickets by phone or on-line, it could only have been from either Ticketweb or the SECC box office.
“They will write to you, with a stamped addressed envelope for you to return the tickets; they will ask you to indicate that you want tickets for the new show. On return of this letter they will send you out your new tickets for REM in the Big Top on the Green. If you cannot make the new show please indicate that you wish a refund.
“Tickets are the same price for the new show and you will not be charged any other booking fees or postal charges.
“Similarly if you bought tickets in person, please return to point of purchase where replacement tickets or refunds will be issued.
“Please note that there will be a cut off date of April 1 for swapping tickets. At this point remaining tickets will be made available for public sale.
“REM Fan Club members who bought tickets to the February 22 show will be contacted by the Fan Club in the next few days.”
As NME.COM reported earlier this year, the band, are to preface their UK outdoor summer shows with a headline slot at the Isle Of Wight Festival on June 12.
