REM have announced
details of a second DUBLIN date on their 2003 European tour.
The US rockers will now play two shows at Dublin’s Marlay Park. In addition to the previously announced date of July 16, the band will now play the same venue the following evening.
The group will play their first full tour in almost four years, and will be followed by their long-awaited ‘Greatest Hits’ compilation in the autumn.
In addition to their Glastonbury show on June 27, REM will play at the T In The Park Festival in July and the Manchester Move festival.
In a statement, Michael Stipe said: “We have been locked up in the studio and are anxious to see the outside again. So we will spend some of the next year on tour with other people who love music.”
Peter Buck added: “My kids have been asking me for the past couple of years, ‘When do we get to go back on the tour bus?’ So I am really excited about next summer and fall, especially that we will finally get to play Warsaw and return to Glastonbury.”
Bassist Mike Mills concluded: “I have missed being on the road and can’t wait to hit it again.”
