Peter Buck expects a mid-2003 release with a world tour to follow...

R.E.M are going back into the studio in September to work on their new album, the follow-up to 2001’s ‘REVEAL’. Guitarist PETER BUCK is expecting a release date in mid-2003, with a world tour shortly afterwards.

Buck told that he wanted to tour Japan and Australia after a seven-year absence. “We had the Number One record in Japan, Number One single. And we want to play there. Europe is always fun, America is fun. I’m not sure if we have an audience here or not, though.”

R.E.M didn’t fully tour their last album, ‘Reveal’, instead opting to play a select number of shows and promotional appearances across the world.
