The band relocate to their native Georgia to commence the follow-up to 'Reveal'...

REM have spent a week working on new songs for the follow-up to ‘REVEAL’.

The three founding members, guitarist Peter Buck, Mike Mills, and singer Michael Stipe have spent seven days in their native Athens, Georgia, recording early demos for the album, which is unlikely to be released before 2003.

According to the band’s official website,, full recording sessions on the record will not commence until later this year while the band members concentrate on other projects.
