The superstars cover Patti Smith and, erm, Catatonia at the Crocodile Club...

REM were joined by PEARL JAM vocalist EDDIE VEDDER at the group’s second secret show in a week.

The group performed as the surprise guests at the Crocodile Cafe in Seattle, following a scheduled appearance by Peter Buck’s ‘other’ band Minus 5.

Vedder joined the group for three songs, ‘The Long Road’, a cover of Patti Smith’s ‘People Have the Power’ and ‘Begin the Begin’, the latter requested by Vedder from the crowd. The group agreed to play it if Vedder would sing the song as duet with Michael Stipe, which he did.

The band also found time in their set to perform a cover of the Catatonia track ‘Dead From The Waist Down’, which was listed in the setlist as ‘Make Hay Not War’.
