Famous music show set for comeback

The Tube is back after 19 years

’The Tube’ is set to make a comeback after 19 years, but this time as a radio show.

It will go live in September on internet station Channel4radio.com.

The programme, which launched in 1982, was seen as an alternative to ’Top Of The Pops’.

The Tube featured iconic live performances from the likes of R.E.M (pictured) and Madonna, along with interviews conducted by presenters Paula Yates and Jools Holland.

The show was famously forced off the schedules for three weeks in 1987 when presenter Jools Holland swore live on air, before it was finally axed permanently in 1987.
