Organisers blame the council for the cancellation
Scotland’s Homecoming Festival, which had been set to take place at Irvine Beach Park on May 2-3, has been cancelled.
In a statement organisers blamed the local council for the cancellation, claiming that the financial demands put on them forced the decision.
“It is with great regret that organisers of the Homecoming Festival have announced that this year’s event has been cancelled,” the statement read. “This is due to new demands from the council requesting 50 percent of the profits and a £60,000 bond on the land.
The statement explained that ticket holders can claim a full refund and asked them to head to Homecomingfestival.co.uk for more information.
Organisers are planning to host alternative events featuring some of the bands who had been on the bill.
